When I was a child and my parents would ask what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would simply say that I wanted to be happy….Then I got to this place, 18 years ago, where I hadn’t been happy for almost three years, and was super depressed.
I was a seeker, I was one of those people who was always looking for something different because I knew something different should be possible. I did weekend workshops, read books and I never found that difference I was looking for. So I just stayed unhappy. Finally, at one point, I had enough. I finally got to the place where I’d had enough of not being happy.
It’s kind of like you’re twisted into this black hole where things that used to make you happy don’t; people that you used to feel connected to, you don’t feel connected to. Rather than feeling a sense of joy, you feel this intense emptiness and sadness. And the things that used to bring you joy, just don’t, like you can’t find that joy anymore. I gave it six months. I said, “Universe, either my life really changes or I’m out of here.”
A week later, I saw an ad in the local paper for a program called Access Consciousness®. I went in and had an Access Consciousness® Bars session. And literally, after an hour and 15 minutes, I left the session looking up at the sky going, “Oh my god has it always been this beautiful here?” After this, I never contemplated killing myself again, and it literally changed the course of my life.
If you’re experiencing this in your life, here are some things that may contribute to changing your world:
1. Know There Is Someone There For You
Whether it’s depression, anxiety, or any other illness, the conversation is opening up about mental health and there is always someone there for you.
2. Never Give Up, Never Give In, Never Quit
One of the other things I realized is when you feel like you’re at the end of your rope, you don’t know if you’re going to make it. Just take two more steps, because so many times right beyond that thing that seems like the most terrible thing that’s happened, two more steps beyond that is truly something that is absolutely beautiful.
I know it may sound cheesy, but my true point of view is you’re too valuable for this world. You’re truly the gift that you are. And one of the other questions you can ask is, “What gift am I to this world that I haven’t acknowledged, that I can be whether anybody else acknowledges it or not?”
3. Access Consciousness® Bars
This session changed my life, and contributed to me changing the depression I experienced.
Access Bars® is a gentle hands-on modality. It consists of 16 bars of energy that run through and around your head. These bars connect at specific “bars-points” and correlate to different areas and aspects of life. During an Access Bars® session, a practitioner gently touches these points to release the electromagnetic charge of all thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions, and beliefs that may have limited you in the concerned life areas.
What if you are the gift this world requires? I know you are.
